The recruiting process is multi-layered and complex. Our clients see only qualified candidates presented quickly and professionally. This can, at times, give the illusion of simplicity. Successful people make it look easy. Our network is vast and has continually expanded over the past 20 years, but it’s just the start of the research that goes into uncovering only the best suited candidates for you.

Here’s a glimpse of what’s involved when we work with you:

Pre-Search and Planning
We begin with a thorough analysis of your organization. Next, we review the skills, the background and personality needed for a candidate to meet and exceed the goals of your brand and the role.

Then a strategic recruiting plan is created to include the competitive landscape, target companies, and social media strategy related to each search.

Identify and Assess Candidates
In-depth candidate research, screening, and interviews (in-person whenever possible).

Qualified, vetted candidates who have agreed to be presented are delivered to your team.

Evaluation and Selection
Client and candidate interview agreed to and scheduling process begins. We work with you to schedule all phone and in-person interviews including all travel arrangements, if necessary.

Client and candidate debriefs are conducted at each and every phase of the interview process. Communication to all parties ismaintained throughout.

Confidential reference checks are completed.

Attraction and Negotiation
We consult with you to deliver an appropriate offer. We consult with the candidate and assure candidate and client negotiations will be smooth.

Managing the Transition
Start date is finalized.

Candidate and client follow-up continues through our guarantee period to make sure there is a long-term fit.

In each search scenario, De Forest Search Partners will work to attract the top candidates to your opportunity. When we are selected to represent your company, we always maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism regardless of the type of search selected. We are one of the few firms that gives you a choice of 4 different models.

  Retained Search
The retained search process costs you no more than a contingency or hybrid search, but it does take priority in our office. In a retained search, we are paid one third of the fee up front, in anticipation of our search producing the best candidate for the position. The second third is due 30 days after the search commences. The balance is due upon completion of the search.

On a retained search we work on an exclusive basis and all recruiters give top priority to a narrowly defined,select and targeted list of potential candidates. A retained search is more frequently utilized in the most senior level roles.

We undertake a significant screening process,including national travel to evaluate candidates, multiple professional assessments and background checks of presented candidates.

Hybrid Search
The hybrid search costs you the same as a fully retained or contingency search, but takes priority over contingency searches. In this model, the client pays a percentage of the fee up front, which is credited towards the final fee after the candidate is placed.

Generally, hybrid searches are exclusive with De Forest Search Partners,and we prioritize them and keep searching until our clients are satisfied and have filled the role.

We undertake our normal screening process and complete several interviews, references and background checks prior to hiring.

Contingency Searches
Fee is due and payable upon placement of a suitable candidate. We do not require exclusivity for these searches, but in times of high volume, these searches may not take the highest priority.

We do always take the time to conduct our normal screening process and complete references for contingency searches.

Unlike many contingency search firms, we maintain that each candidate presented by us, whether on contingency or retained, is fully vetted and assessed for suitability.

Volume Searches
This is a partnership relationship we enter into when there is an aggressive growth or restructuring strategy for your company and know there will be a need for our extended services. This will be defined by you and our recruiting team working together to develop a plan. There may or may not be an up front financial commitment depending on requirements. The partnership and the agreement will dictate the fees associated with this relationship.
